Installation

How exactly do I proceed?

The product comes with a comprehensive manual and a link to several videos that explain everything in detail (the full course is, of course, included in the price). If these step-by-step videos still raise any questions, please visit our FAQ page or contact us.

What exactly is included in the starry sky kit?

Each kit includes the light source (driver, choice of 1, 2, or 4 heads), a controller, a detailed instruction booklet, and access to instructional videos. We also include a 12V power adapter (cigarette lighter adapter), a fuse adapter for a secure connection to the car (in three sizes), two 0.75mm drill bits, and 4 meters of power cable. This provides the foundation for self-installation.

Do I need to hire a professional for installation, or can I do it myself?

The kit is designed for easy DIY installation. With the included instruction booklet and videos, along with the necessary basic tools, self-installation is easily possible. However, if you're unsure about your skills or would prefer extra convenience, you can always contact us at project-starlight.be/contact to schedule an appointment.

How complicated is the installation of the Starry Sky lighting?

Installation requires some technical skill and patience. The process involves precisely punching small holes in your headliner, carefully routing the fiberglass, and connecting the power supply to your car's electrical system. An average installation can take one or more days.

What additional tools do I need besides the kit contents?

In addition to the included drill bits (0.75mm), you'll need a suitable drill. Depending on how you're attaching the fibers, a hot glue gun with glue sticks may be helpful. Interior removal tools are recommended for removing your headliner.

The package includes several adapters for connecting the starry sky, so you don't have to worry about that.

Additional materials such as a glue gun and standard equipment such as screwdrivers and the like will also be needed.

Do I need to completely remove my car's headliner for installation?

Yes and no, for a correct and aesthetic installation of the starry sky lighting, it's recommended to remove your car's headliner and remove it. This ensures the fibers can be neatly and safely concealed.

If this is not possible, the starry sky can also be placed with the roof lining in the car, but this is certainly not recommended.

How is the Starry Sky light connected to my car's power supply?

The kit comes with a 12V power adapter and a fuse adapter. These can be connected to your car's 12V outlet (cigarette lighter) or directly to your car's fuse box, depending on your preference and car model. We recommend always following the instructions for a safe electrical connection.

The instructions also mention mounting the starry sky to the correct fuse so that it turns on/off when the car starts/stops.

Are there any specific safety guidelines I should follow during installation?

Yes, safety is crucial.
Use the correct fuse for the power requirements of the lighting and follow all electrical wiring instructions carefully.

Where in my car can I install the Starry Sky lighting?

The Starry Sky light is primarily designed for installation in the headliner of your car, to create a realistic starry sky.

The LED driver itself is then incorporated into the interior as stated in the instructions.

However, with creativity and the right approach, the fibres can also be incorporated into other interior panels for additional atmospheric effects.
